Swellendam was founded in 1745, and our home — the Zanddrift building at the Drostdy Museum — has stood for some 260 years beneath the Langeberg mountains. Reed ceilings, hand-plastered walls and old yellowwood doors hold the room; African art, hides and heritage cloth bring it to life. Guests tell us the setting alone is “soothing to the soul.”
